Welcome to the October Patch Tree. Without further ado.

majesty icons in there so the portal dat is a less useful roadmap
to the patch than it normally is)

Crier Sayings
- Have you tried one of those tasty candy
bars? Chocolate and a scrumptious gooey
filling!
- My cousin the alchemist is much more in
demand with his monarchy now that he's
learned how to make those handy trade
elixirs!
- My cousin the archmage got himself a new
Ursuin mask! I've never seen him looking
so shaggy!
- I hate this time of year. I always get
pumpkin stains on my robe...
- The great armorsmiths of each race have
developed new, fabulously ornate regalia
masks!
- To furnish the houses built by the
Arcanum, furniture vendors have appeared
in Zaikhal, Hebian-To, and Cragstone!
- News! Alchemists of Dereth have developed
their craft further! They can now brew
health and mana elixirs that are a little
different, and maybe a little better,
than the ones available from merchants!
- I think I'll go ahead and buy myself some
furniture... But first, I suppose, I have
to figure out what it is those Arcanum
agents want. They're so picky about what
they'll take!
- Those new regalia masks sure are
impressive...
- News! Cooks have created new sweets based
on a strange, sweet food carried by
Monougas!
- News! Agents of an organization called
the Arcanum have built houses that they
will rent out to Derethians in exchange
for some very specific quest item.
- The great armorsmiths of each race have
developed new, fabulously ornate regalia
masks!
- Ulgrim's
Rambles
- I hear tell that Aliester the Loquacious
is retiring. Well, good riddance to him,
the wordy prat. Only man who ever beat me
in a drinking contest... Wait, you didn't
hear me say that.
- Candeth Martine came through here the
other day. He said he'd teach me the
secrets of his magic in exchange for my
Virindi-repulsion techniques. I slapped
him on the back of his glowing head and
sent him packing
- Yeah, I think it's about time I opened up
that other island... Be respectful when
you get there, though. It's my island.
- Yarrr, look at me, I have no head! Oh,
wait, I'm not wearing that thing... Well,
heck, where did I put it? So easy to
misplace...
- Those mansions I've seen are pretty nice,
but nowhere near as nice as the fortress
I built for myself on Asheron's Island.
- You know why the Obsidian Plains aren't
so dense with critters any more? They
heard about how righteously I regulated
the Virindi, and now they're quaking in
terror for miles around.
- I'm a learned sage! I shouldn't have to
put up with this shabby treatment! Get me
another stout, kid!
- I've been to Steiner's Recliners. Nice
wares. Versatile solutions to pre-urban
living.
- Miscellanious Notes
- Bows (nayins, longbows, etc) were buffed to 113%
damage. This vastly improves the chances
than an archer will one day be able to find and
use a bow better than the composite bow in day to
day use.
- Pookie is reported fixed -- doesn't stop
fightning. (Izanki of Morningthaw)
- Locked doors have been removed from the hub
(Abandoned mines).
- New Artwork for the lowly
pyreal (Stephen Veiss)
- Both in your pack, and when on the
ground. I'm sure there used to be three
different stack sizes for pyreal on the
ground, but now there is only one stack
size - the largest, even if you only drop
one pyreal.
Plus, the stack of pyreal on the desk of
the Agent of the Arcanum in Zaikal uses
the old art.. someone slipped with the
continuity? :)
- Tumerok NPCs don't have any new weapons so keep
saving the tokens.
- Decorative
scarecrows are back in game now (They're not
all decorative though)
- Monsters
- Ravlen reports Scarecrows are back with PUMPKINS!
(Cooks, fletchers, & Thrown Weapons dudes
rejoyce!)

resistance has been lowered to 340 and loot has
been substantially improved.

replenish your health

quickly. At 1 mana per
Heal Other VI, its
virtually free and speeds
the process considerably.
Healing is also viable,
but takes time and
stamina.

construct their monstrous dream.
Find the repositories of the New
Singularity in the desert, the
southern mountains and the
Obsidian Plains, human."
Ecorto the Lost Director gives

- Colleague,
A disaster has come to
pass. The fool Ecorto has
broken from our unity,
has defected to the
humans and tells them of
our plans and our
installations around the
island. Be prepared for
the humans to do their
worst. They are barbaric
and crude and worthy only
of destruction, but they
are maddeningly
persistent and clever.
Should our inferiors fail
us, it remains to you to
make sure that your own
reserves of material
remain inviolate.

- New "Arcanum" NPCs in each city.
- Per Lopan and John Lenon:
- Agent of the Arcanum tells you,
"Greetings, adventurer. I
have been sent here by the
Arcanum to provide Writs of
Refuge in return for various
items needed to prepare for any
coming turmoil that threatens the
Isparian presence here on Ispar.
Nuhmudira has informed us that
creatures of old may soon be
stalking the earth. And these
creatures hold items of value.
Items that we can use. If you
come across a Crest of the
Falatacot, a Ring of Mummified
Skin, or a Quiddity Crystal, I am
able to exchange a Writ of Refuge
for any one of these items. What
we need may change at any time,
so be prepared."
Apparently the creatures
who hold these items may not be
abroad in the land quite yet.
When they first appear, we shall
herald their presence and repeat
our warning for as long as they
stalk the earth.
Once you possess the Writ of
Refuge, then you have satisfied
the main requirements for
acquiring a home. The Covenant
Crystals also require money and
other minor items, but those
items should not be in short
supply. Enjoy your homestead! One
note: Nuhmudira has set aside a
small number of palatial estates
for those allegiances thought to
be most worthy of their
ownership, and the most generous
with their resources. She has not
opened them up yet, but she will
soon."

- Bugs
- Trying to inscribe the new flaming skull crashes
AC for some people (Bodag of Leafcull)
- ID an item on a corpse, run away/hop a
portal/whatever... you'll still be ID'ing the
item forever...presumably til the corpse decays
and/or the item itself decays from the landscape.
the ID window does NOT go away. This bug does not
happen (as far as i've tested) if you drop an
item on the landscape, ID it, run/portal/whatever
away. the ID window *will* go away in this case.
(Aten)
- Un-assessed monsters HP %age does not always
decrease, although hit point bar does.
- After casting spells on an item you must close
and re-id the item to see the spells.
- Town criers say "The great armorsmiths of
each race have developed new, fabulously ornate
regalia mask" in reality it's the mask
makers which that masks.
- Helmar Na-el reports: Whenever you're in chat
mode, typing out a message, if someone hands you
an item, you're booted out of chat mode. Not a
real biggie, but it's annoying on quests when
you're trying to type out "Heal!" or
"Help! Tenumbrus Minion one me, a
mage!", someone hands you a Health potion or
another item, and you're doing hotkeyed emotes
for the next 20 seconds...
